A Good Place To Start

What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness has come to have different meanings so I want to start by sharing my intention for this word.
To me, to be Mindful is:
* to be consciously aware
*to be present and intentional
*to act with reverence and gratitude
*to enjoy life and savor the joy
*to live in alignment with your beliefs and values
*to listen to your heart and intuition
Go back and re-read those, SLOWLY, taking a minute to really think about what they mean, one at a time.

This IS the beginning, the start to A Mindful Childhood, really understanding what Mindfulness means.
Most people go through life on auto-pilot, not very present in their own lives, or just surviving instead of living. The presence and conscious awareness, bringing intention into all you do, living with purpose, being awake in your life and enjoying living, living in accordance with your values and beliefs, that is living mindful living.

What is A Mindful Childhood?

A Mindful Childhood embodies these principals. It is joyous and purposeful.
When you strip it down, childhood is comprised of three components- the parents that you are, who your child is, and the life you are creating. You create A Mindful Childhood when you take the principals of Mindfulness and apply them to these three components. When you, as parents, are conscious and present, intentional and purposeful, reverent, living in alignment, with joy and gratitude, this frames your parenting and the creation of your life, which is also the creation of your child’s childhood, creating A Mindful Childhood for your children.

A Mindful Childhood is a way of growing and learning that nurtures a child’s inner awareness, emotional well-being, and connection to the world around them. It means helping children become consciously aware of their thoughts, feelings, and surroundings, while encouraging them to be present and intentional in their daily experiences. Through mindfulness, children learn to act with reverence and gratitude, appreciating both the small and meaningful moments in life. They are guided to slow down, enjoy life, and truly savor joy as it arises. A mindful childhood also supports living in alignment with personal beliefs and values, fostering authenticity and integrity from an early age. Most importantly, it encourages children to listen to their hearts and trust their intuition, building confidence, compassion, and a deep sense of self that will support them throughout their lives.
